Privacy Policy — Fridge List

Fridge List (“the app”, “we”) is designed to keep your food items and expiry dates on your own device. We do not run servers, and we do not collect, sell, or share your personal information. This policy explains what the app does with your data and the device features it uses.

Data stored on your device

The food items, dates, notes, and settings you enter are stored locally on your device using Apple’s on-device storage. This information is not transmitted to us and we have no access to it. Deleting the app removes this data.

We do not collect personal data

The app has no user accounts and includes no analytics, advertising, or tracking. The developer does not receive any of your data.

Device permissions

• Camera — used to scan product barcodes. The camera feed is processed on your device; no images are stored or uploaded.
• Microphone & Speech Recognition — used to add items by voice. Speech is transcribed entirely on your device; the audio is not sent to Apple or to us. The resulting text is used only to create your items. If on-device transcription isn’t available for your language, the feature is disabled rather than sending audio off the device.
• Notifications — used to remind you locally about items that are expiring or frozen items to use. Reminders are scheduled on your device.

Third-party services

• Open Food Facts — when you scan a barcode, the barcode number is sent to the Open Food Facts database (openfoodfacts.org) to look up product information. No personal information is sent. Their use of data is governed by the Open Food Facts privacy policy.
• Apple on-device intelligence — parsing of dictated items may use Apple’s on-device model, which runs locally on your device. No data is sent to the developer.

Your other devices

If you use the Apple Watch app, your list is shared between your own iPhone and paired Apple Watch using Apple’s device-to-device connectivity. This data stays on your devices.

Children

The app is not directed to children and does not knowingly collect any personal information from anyone.

Data retention and deletion

All data lives on your device. You can delete individual items in the app, or remove all app data by deleting the app.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the effective date above.
